MythWalker™ Launches Today for Heroes of Earth and Mytherra
Geolocation-based Fantasy Role-Playing Game Available Worldwide Now on Google Play and Apple App Store from NantGames
EL SEGUNDO, Calif. – Nov. 21, 2024 – NantGames, the interactive gaming member of the NantWorks family of companies, today launched its geolocation role playing game (RPG) MythWalker™ for Android and iOS platforms. MythWalker merges classic fantasy RPG gameplay with cutting-edge geolocation technology, immersing players in a world where fantasy and reality collide, utilizing real geographical data that mirrors actual streets and landmarks.
Players are summoned by a mysterious entity only known as “The Child” to save Earth and Mytherra, engaging a rich cast of allies and enemies where the two parallel universes collide. Taking on roles of Warriors, Spellslingers and Priests, heroes battle enemies using magic and brawn, repelling ancient evil forces that have awoken and are determined to destroy the two worlds.
MythWalker elevates the mobile geolocation gaming experience with unparalleled accessibility features. Players can use Portal Energy to enable the Tap-To-Move feature, allowing movement through the world with the aid of a Navigator companion without physically moving locations in real life. Additionally, MythWalker introduced Portals at launch, granting players access to specific places from anywhere, anytime. Players can establish up to three Portals in real-world places they’re presently occupying or in the past. Once through a Portal, players with their Navigators can further explore their surroundings.
Portal Energy replenishes over time or can be gained by completing tasks or defeating enemies.
NantGames is comprised of gaming veterans from Infinity Ward (Activision), Epic Games, Jam City, Riot Games, Square Enix and more, who came together to create immersive games born from passion and innovation. The launch of MythWalker serves as the studio’s inaugural project, and the team aims to create more groundbreaking games for adventurous players in the future, while fully committing to expanding the MythWalker experience with ongoing new game content and support.

Step into Mytherra, a fantastical, parallel planet to Earth ─ a world where throughout history its people and mystical creatures have infiltrated the dreams of humans and over time, formed the basis of Earth’s many earths and legends. Suddenly Mytherra is under attack by an unknown group, which poses a direct threat to Earth as well. A powerful being, known only as The Child, has reached out through the Veil into our world seeking help. She recruits you – the Mythwalker – to uncover the truth about the attackers, explore the connection between the two worlds, and lead Mytherra’s heroes in the defense of their home. PLAY AS EPIC HEROES
With three species to choose from there is a character to match your playstyle. The Wulven are loyal dog-folk, small but hearty, whose cheerful nature and ferocity in battle make them valuable team players. The Annu are a feathered, birdlike people, driven by pride, whose strength lies in wielding powerful magic. Finally, there are Humans, a well-balanced and versatile people, who can excel in any role.
Players will have a choice of three playable classes. The Warrior is a classic mix of defense and powerful attacks. The Spellslinger is a fast-moving ranged combat specialist. The Priest is a healer and support fighter, focused on endurance and protection.
Can’t choose just one? MythWalker allows multiple characters to be created so players can experience any combination of species and class they want to try.
NAVIGATORS AND TAP-TO-MOVE
Each player is paired with a Navigator, an ethereal spirit form that players use on Mytherra. Players gather Portal Energy during their adventures, enabling them to use their Navigator. This grants thetap-to-move feature, allowing players to interact with points of interest and engage in combat without physically moving. This is the first of many accessibility features currently being developed.
CO-OP PARTY PLAY
Up to three (3) local players can form an adventuring party. Parties have no time limit and allow players to take on harder enemies together while enjoying a boost to XP, gold, and other rewards. Mix and match character classes and species with friends to find the perfect combination of skills to beat the 80+ enemies in nine (9) different environments currently in-game.
EXPLORE THE WORLD BY PORTALS
Mythwalkers can drop up to three portals to different parts of the world via the Hyport Gateway in Hyport. Portals can be traveled to by tapping on them from a globe interface or from a list view at the Gateway. Players are automatically put in Navigator form when traveling through a portal so you can roam and freely explore your new location.
HYPORT: AN EMERGING CITY
Welcome to the soul of Mytherra - the city of Hyport, which serves as a town hub for players to engage in various activities to help them on their adventures. Here players will meet Madra “Mads” MacLachlan, a legendary, but now retired, Wulven adventurer, who sells all kinds of goods at Mads’ Market. They can stop by Stanna’s Forge to meet Gem Stanna the Blacksmith, who oversees the crafting of gear and can help with upgrading weapons and armor.
EXCITING MINI GAMES
Swing your Pickaxe in the Mining mini-game and get to the bonus rounds for more rewards. Well-timed hits will earn you a bounty of metal - and if you’re lucky, rare stones to help you craft new armor and weapons. Try your hand at the Woodcutting mini-game, where precise swipes will chop down trees, yielding wood and other materials to craft useful items for your adventures.
